The Clubhouse is where the tip you left on the table for your server at Applebee’s or Bennigan’s gets converted into liquid. During the day it’s a blue collar crowd, but around midnight Sarasota’s finest kitchen, dish and wait staff will emerge at the large oval bar with a thirst for booze. “We pour a good drink here,” says bar manager T-K, who three years ago switched over from managing T-Katz. The free standing tavern sits on the edge of a central Sarasota parking lot that’s always buzzing with taxi cabs, cop cars and who ever may be walking through. The main room has big wooden support beams on the ceiling and a regulation size pop-a-shot built into the corner. Sometimes MC Battles go down in the front room, which can be gated off for private parties (the stripper pole looks well worn).
