The story: Two new local alcohol producers come on the scene: Drum Circle Distilling with Siesta Key Rum, andJalehouse Beer with their first low-carb craft brew.
What next? Troy Roberts, owner of Drum Circle Distilling, has finally found a distributor to legally sell his Siesta Key Rum to retailers. Scott Denisco, a family friend with experience in the food brokerage industry, plans to set up a new distributorship by the end of January, and Roberts expect the rum to be flowing by Valentine’s Day. He has also been experimenting with rum cakes. Jalehouse Beer can now be purchased from over 30 area retailers. They are starting to expand north into Bradenton and plan to have their low-carb brew available in keg form within the first quarter. They are kicking around the idea of having locals vote on a name for their upcoming wheat beer.
